Hey, all!

Just wanted to announce that Baby Boy, from this point on to be referred to as Little'un (not to be confused with Munchkin, my two year old daughter), was born last Monday at 10:47 a.m. Imagine my surprise when the doctor announced that he was 8 pounds, 15 ounces! Actually, I had a hunch, even though the ultrasound suggested he was in the 7 pound range. My bladder totally knew.

My recovery is coming along slowly but surely, and we've enjoyed some low key time at home before gearing up for the holidays. I'm lounging around (er... changing dirty diapers every seven minutes) and rewatching The West Wing, which my mom so awesomely bought me as an early Christmas/maternity leave present.

Writing-wise, I'm obviously taking a tiny break. But I expect to get back into revision mode (working on SLIDE 2) as soon as The Little'un is sleeping more than two hours at a time. Anyone have any tips on this, by the way? Probably just have to wait until he gets his days and nights sorted out. At any rate, I hope to have this latest revision finished by the end of January. And then it will almost be time for SLIDE to come out! Squeeeee!

Cynthia Hand, author of the amaaaaazing UNEARTHLY, sent me a signed copy of HALLOWED, the next book in the series. As a huge Tucker fan, I was extremely stoked to see what happened next in the saga. Plus, Cynthia's writing is just gorgeous. I'm trying to think of how to describe the experience of reading her books. It's kind of like a warm bath. You kind of ease in and luxuriate and just never want to get out. Anyway, I loved HALLOWED just as much as UNEARTHLY (if not more) and was absolutely moved to tears (you'll see why).
