TEN by Gretchen McNeil... GIVEAWAY!!!
And their doom comes swiftly.
It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.
But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.
Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off the from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?
~~~
Um, so how excited are we for this book???
Answer: VERY.
I remember Gretchen posting the synopsis for TEN, like, a year ago, and I begged and begged her to let me beta for it. But Gretchen can be mean like that, so she never did let me. Luckily she and I share the same publisher, so I was able to snag an ARC and read the awesomeness before anyone else!
And it TOTALLY lived up to my expectations.
People dying left and right, everyone's a suspect, and she had me guessing until the very end. Perfect for mystery lovers! I *highly* recommend.
Oh, and DUH, I almost forgot to mention Christopher Pike blurbed it. That's right. Christopher freaking Pike. Um, yeah. How awesome is that?
Wow, I've never been first before :) How awesome of you to host yet another kickass giveaway! I just chose this book for my Waiting On Wednesday post today, so thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mystery is what ever happened to Amelia Earhart? I hate not knowing things, and I think part of that is the reason why I am obsessed with missing persons stories!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mystery of all time is Murder on the Orient Express!
ReplyDeleteI love so many Christies that it's hard to pick just one though...
Anything by Agatha Christie or Mary Higgins Clark. I can't pick just one!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have one favourite mystery of all time, but I LOVED the Nancy Drew mysteries when I was a kid! So many good memories :)
ReplyDeleteGreat question. I guess the greatest mystery would be life. Who we were created and how we don't float into space. BUT my favorite and thought provoking would be the Bermuda Triangle.lol. Some weird things go down there. Have been dying to read TEN. =)
ReplyDeleteI read The Vanishing Game yesterday and it was pretty awesome. I totally didn't see the end coming - I love books like that!
ReplyDeleteI love The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.
ReplyDeleteFavourite mystery: Slide, duh! :P
Thank you, Hayley! :)
DeleteThe Analyst by John Katzenbach
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity!
Oh goodness tough question.... I don't know if I can pick a favorite! I really like The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Does that count as a mystery? :P
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favourite of all time is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie - which is the exact reason I want to read TEN so badly! Thank you for the doing the giveaway!
ReplyDelete(and i know there was a box for it in the Rafflecopter, but in case you want the link pasted here in the comments, I shared it on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/AshleyLovesBooks/posts/249207898514625)
I don't really have a favorite. I loved SLIDE, the ebook series ALIBI is very good, too. Rosebush is another addiction.
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to this book! Thanks for the opportunity! (FYI, June 29th is my birthday... Keep that in mind! ;) )
Thank you, Emily!
DeleteI use to read Mary Higgins Clark and Sue Grafton years ago but just no longer my cup of tea! Looking forward to Ten!
ReplyDeleteI want this one soooo bad! Actually, And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians) is my favorite mystery I read in high school, and well really ever. Ever since then I've been collecting Agatha Christie books. I also really enjoy culinary mysteries (Joanne Fluke and Diane Mott Davidson).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! Not sure what my favourite mystery would be, but I love Maureen Johnson's The Name of The Star!
ReplyDeleteSlide!
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks, Annabelle!
DeleteI have been waiting for this book to come out! I don't know if I can pick an all-time fave, but I was mad for the Nancy Drew books when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mystery book has to be And Then There Were None. So you can see why I'm dying for Ten, no? =)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mystery is "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Cristie. I read it in middle school and I feel in love with it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mystery of all time is Nancy Drew- Murder on Ice (Nancy Drew File #3) :)
ReplyDeleteHmm... the only mystery I can think of at the moment was the Dyatlov Pass incident, which was real and creeped me out BIG TIME, and I guess I wouldn't exactly call it a favorite... lol The whole story was just so bizarre and always stayed with me.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I cannot wait to read this one!! Thank you for the giveaway!! :)
Oh, gosh. I completely forgot about looking for this one. Stupid Kaye. Anyway, I'd say that the original And Then There Were None. Really creepy, but real-life stuff freaks me out a lot more - especially things like unsolved disappearances and voices in the dark and stuff like that. ><
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanx for the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, favourite mystery..there are sooo many! But recently I've read The Woods by Harlan Coben and liked it a lot. But I'm going to read Slide soon, so maybe it will be my fave too ;)
In The Woods by Tana French is my best mystery! But Ten sounds great too!
I loved Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane :)
ReplyDeleteI’m stil a loyal fan of Nancy Drew :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say anything R.L. Stine. Anything that happened on Fear Street. I used to devour those books like crazy.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on what you define a mystery as. However, I really liked Anna Dressed In Blood. While it may not be a major mystery, I kind of thought it was. I kept asking the same questions: "What?" "Why?" "How?" "What's going to happen next?" I LOVE those questions.
ReplyDeleteSherlock Holmes and The Hound Of Baskervilles.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read too many mysteries... although I'm actually reading SLIDE right now and I'm loving the mystery in it so far. :)
