Risotto and Seeing Where Things Go

I do realize I owe you a blog post--actually, several. Severalteen of them.

And it's not that I've been so busy (though I have), but I don't really know what to write about.

There's so much going on that I'd like to talk about, but I don't feel like I can discuss things as frankly as I'd like to, so I just don't.

Like, one thing is this new book I'm working on. It's very different from Slide, and it's a lot scarier for me. I've been letting myself just kind of go with it. Getting to know the characters and such. Writing scenes I don't know for sure will end up in the book. And the subject matter is something that is quite upsetting to me and touches me in a more real way than Slide did.

Which is good, I guess. I mean, me feeling this way.

I have days when I hate everything I write and days like today when I kind of like what I ended up with.

I'm hoping not to have to rush with this one because I feel like it has to be stirred and watched and stirred some more, for quite a while, before I serve it up. Oh, sorry. I just made risotto.

Really, I don't have much to say. Things are happening. Words are being written. I'm just waiting to see where it all goes.
